GARLIC FESTIVAL POSTER CONTEST MAKES COME BACK

Ocean Park, Washington, March 25, 2010 – Peninsula Arts Association announces the return of the Northwest Garlic Festival Poster Contest. The Ocean Park Area Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest Garlic Festival Committee have offered PAA the opportunity to bring this popular art poster back to the public. Visitors to the June festival will once again be able to purchase a limited edition print celebrating the joys and beauty of the fabulous stinking rose.

The contest is open to the public with a cash prize awarded to the winning artist. Entry details, submission dates/location and art forms are available by calling 360-665-6041, visiting www.beachartist.org, or may be picked up, after March 31st, at the OPA Chamber Office (1715 Bay Ave, Ocean Park) during regular business hours. Submission
deadline is May 20, 2010. The limited edition run of 250 posters, sized 12 x 18 inches, will be signed by the artist and packaged in clear poly bags with foam core backing for protection.

An artist reception and unveiling of the 29th Northwest Garlic Festival Poster will occur on June 11, from 6 to 7 pm at The Barn on Bay (2311 Bay Avenue, Ocean Park, WA). This reception offers the first chance to purchase the limited edition poster. The event is open to the public.

This year’s 29th Northwest Garlic Festival runs June 19 and 20, from 10 to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 to 4 pm on Sunday, at the Wilson Field, (248th and Sandridge Road) in Ocean Park.
